Coinbase reported a strong second quarter (Q2) for 2026, highlighting continued gains in crypto trading market share, growing revenue diversification, and resilience despite softer market conditions.

The crypto platform reached a record 10.3% share of global crypto trading volume in Q2 2026, up from 9.1% in the first quarter. This marked the company’s third consecutive quarter of market share gains, with Coinbase increasing its share across both spot and derivatives markets.

Derivatives activity also remained resilient. Coinbase said its crypto derivatives trading volume nearly matched the previous quarter’s record despite the broader derivatives market declining by double digits quarter-over-quarter.

Prediction markets emerged as another major growth area. Contracts and revenue increased 106% quarter-over-quarter, surpassing $100 million in annualized revenue. Coinbase also said its new crypto binaries experience helped drive daily traders three times higher and daily revenue four times higher compared with May’s average.

Stablecoins and payments continued to strengthen Coinbase’s broader ecosystem. The average amount of USDC held across Coinbase products reached an all-time high of $20 billion, representing more than 30% of USDC in circulation at the end of the quarter. Meanwhile, stablecoin transaction volume on Base increased sevenfold year-over-year.

Coinbase also emphasized the growing role of artificial intelligence and onchain payments. The company said more than 99% of onchain agentic commerce was completed using USDC, while more than 90% of agentic stablecoin transaction volume ran on Base.

Revenue diversification was another key theme in the earnings update. Coinbase said 88% of net revenue in Q2 came from sources excluding Bitcoin spot trading, reflecting reduced dependence on Bitcoin trading fees. Subscription and Services revenue reached $555 million, accounting for 48% of net revenue.

The company also recorded its 14th consecutive quarter of positive Adjusted EBITDA and said it was narrowing its FY2026 Adjusted Expenses range.

CEO Brian Armstrong said the results demonstrate that Coinbase’s broader “Everything Exchange” strategy is delivering revenue across trading, payments, lending, and other crypto-powered financial services.
